Aaron, Tata + Amelie

December 24, 2010 Family

The idea of this photo shoot has been there ever since Tata gave birth to Amelie. But everyone knows that a new family is always very busy. Until a week ago, the idea came back and yesterday Aaron & Tata came in with their 5 months old baby Amelie. And what a perfect time to wear the Santa’s cloth! With having Amelie around, Aaron and Tata looked a lot happier. It’s obvious what Amelie means to both of them. So I wish Amelie will make her parents proud one day. I also like to say Happy Mother’s Day and Merry X’mas to everyone ! Have a great holiday!

Uchie & Erick

November 29, 2010 Weddings

Uchie & Erick’s wedding is one of the weddings that I shall remember for a long time. How could I forget being stuck at the highway at 3.30 AM ? AM not PM fellas. That was seriously depressing at the time. But, that was one of those things that reminded me if we want to achieve our goals then we’ll have to fight and earn it. Thankfully, I still got to Uchie’s place on time. I got to know Uchie & Erick from her besties, Yuli, my dearest friend and client. Uchie and Erick shared a lot of interesting stories during the pre-wedding photo shoot about their long relationship, the nature of their work at oil industry and last but not least their wedding preparation. Well, they’ve been together since junior high school so I can assume, they had a pretty big crush on each other. As time goes by, nothing can separate them from the love they have. I accidently met them a couple days before Lebaran, it came a bit of a surprise that Uchie’s expecting a baby. And they looked very happy together as a family. It almost felt like the happiness they showed on their wedding day : )

Christ & Farah

November 17, 2010 Weddings

A little background story about this very special couple. In 1994, Christ and Farah went into Regina Pacis junior high school. But whether they knew each other back then, I wasn’t so sure. They started dating soon after World Cup 2002 in Korea & Japan, or maybe during the World Cup.. well, either way. I knew Christ 16 years ago at junior high school and Farah about 23 years ago at the kindergarten, where we still had our innocent faces = p That’s why it’s so special to me. We grew together and like every other old pals, we’ve been through a lot of ups and downs. I also knew every ex-girl/boyfriend they had. But because of that I understood that Christ & Farah are a perfect match. They complement each other and I love to think they’re made for each other. Anyway, thanks for having me at your wedding. One day I’ll tell some stories to my kids about two of you : ] Christ and Farah are expecting a baby anytime soon and I hope all goes well. Have to save my latest congratulation for now.

‘Film Noir’ on Jakarta Fashion Week

November 12, 2010 Fashion

Every year Jakarta Fashion Week presents the work of Indonesian best designers. Last night was the first time I tried to shoot a fashion show, usually I just came to enjoy the show. It was pretty fun experience, especially with my old film camera and black & white film. Thanks to Lorraine for the invitation : ) So here’s the show in ‘film noir’.

Daniel & Karen Vera

October 27, 2010 Pre-Wedding Portrait

These portraits of Daniel and Karen were made few weeks ago. In few days, Daniel and Karen will tie the knot in the beautiful island of Bali, so let’s all hope for a nice and sunny Bali weather! Ciao : )

Melanie & Frederick

October 16, 2010 Pre-Wedding Portrait

Melanie left home and went to the States about 10 years ago and it was her destiny to meet the love of her life. Melanie & Fredie have been married for 3 years and now they live in ‘Big Apple’ City. It’s the first time Melanie returned home after she got married and she made the biggest effort by bringing her wedding dress that she made for herself. So I started to see a little what her marriage means to her. To me, this is an honor. I believe that love grows. I’m fortunate enough to see the examples from Melanie & Fredie.

Be Inspired and Travel On

October 6, 2010 Travel

A couple of weeks ago, I visited KL and Singapore, to buy few things for my cameras. During this one day trip, I found few interesting pictures from the street and I’m glad to share those pictures here. Back in the days, I used to bring 28mm and 50mm with my Nikon F3. These pictures were taken with Canon 7D & 50mm lens. I guess you’ll get a little bit more with the 50mm for travel photography. So i quote the text I found during my last travel, ‘Be Inspired and Travel On’

Michael Gibbons

September 22, 2010 Portrait

There are a couple of things I really admire from Michael. First, I admire him for his love to what he does. If you see the person, you’ll understand how much he loves and cares for it. Michael is now the head of Universita Del Caffe Dell’ Indonesia. Not only he gives lectures to his students, he’ll also show them how to make a proper coffee, watch them, correct them and applaud them after they do things right. He won’t hold back his experience for others. He cares for others to succeed. Second, I admire him for his strive to always learn more. We talked a bit during a break and I was a little surprised to hear from him that he’s still got things to learn about coffee. He’s been in hospitality industry for 25 years. So I thought what else does he have to learn after such a long career? I don’t know exactly the complexity of coffee but if I relate it to what I do, I can see his point. And to certain extent, he understand photography better than I do. Yesterday Michael sent his message to the students on how to be a good coffee maker. “Put your mind and heart together! And give everything you got.” Sounds pretty simple, right? But to do it, is completely another thing. This man is an example at work.
