Wedding anniversary is a special occasion. The later it gets, the more special it feels. And I think that’s what Mr. & Mrs. Gouw felt during this photo shoot. Cheryl had a unique, cool and bold ideas for her wedding. But I believe it’s best for me not to describe them in words. I prefer you to see how Cheryl and her wedding designer, Sally did it. After our first meeting, I knew very little about Cheryl, I could only think of one thing we had in common, which was the love for black and white photographs. As we moved on, Cheryl sometimes told me about the obstacles going into the wedding. But on the day, all those worries were gone, they’re two happy lovebirds. It’s a lovely day!
Just before our ‘long holiday’ last August, I did this shoot for Jeffry Tan Fall/Winter 2011 collections. It’s quite a short process. Jeffry,Yang and I discussed most of the things by email and met once just before the shoot. But I have a good time knowing and working with everyone. Siska often told me about her dream wedding long before the awaited day came. About the songs, the place and how she wanted to prepare a one perfect day. At times, I tried to picture it on my head. And so the day has passed, the moments have gone. I never asked her whether it was the perfect day she’s been dreaming of. But I knew somehow, and I hope the memories remain forever.
I just met Errie and Yuli recently during the exhibition and they turned out to be such a fun couple to work with. I remembered it was a good day in Singapore, it’s a bit overcast in the morning, but later on we had some bright sunshine and some nice skies, which gave the pictures some good high contrast. In the end, I guess we got some pretty good shots : )
