A Soft Shade Engagement Shoot in Singapore and Studio
On two beautiful sunny days in Singapore and one session in studio, I enjoyed the time making these portraits for Angel & Lucky. What a lovely and down to earth couple.

It excites me to take this assignment for Mobiliari Group, the publisher of Indonesia Tatler who wanted us to shoot this event for them. The event was a welcoming party for Nigel Barker to Jakarta, who was sponsored by Mobiliari Group to do an exclusive photo shoot for Indonesia Tatler and Jetgala magazine. For most people, Nigel Barker was well-known for his appearance as a former judge in America’s Next Top Model. But besides working on TV shows, he is also an author, filmmaker and photographer. The night was hosted by gorgeous Joey Mead King, the Asia’s Next Top Model mentor. It was raining hard a couple of hours before the event started but it didn’t really matter for the crowd who were up for a good party time. You may want to check out the video below! There are different ways how people celebrate their wedding. For David & Anka, they chose the hard way. Their way. And I don’t mean hard as negatives. I saw they were so excited and that made everyone around them feeling as excited. Having just a little sleep and doing early make up didn’t seem to affect Anka’s energy level. Everyone was in a groovy mood, and for me it only means one thing, we’re gonna get some beautiful pictures. Check out the trailer at the end of this post, it’s worth watching twice! I welcomed this shoot for Garrett and Sarah with some renewed enthusiasm as they wanted a series of portraits which related to their family roots and also some strong sense of lover scenes. So the challenge I faced was not only how to set up the studio props according to a certain time period but also how to make the lighting work well so it create the right mood for each scenes.
The distance was a real big problem for them. But they’re holding on to each other dearly. Rolland and Junita finally tied the knot last Sunday. May love always prevail.
I’m afraid that I can’t say too much about this couple. I just love the fact Andhika and Cynthia are among the most honest and humble persons I ever met. And it all began during our first meeting, when I accompanied Anne, my manager, who just got out from the hospital, to do the presentation. When we finished the presentation, they’ve been very clear that they would like us to be a part of their wedding. So the rest was practically just small details. I always knew they would make so many perfect frames together. I had real tough times choosing my favorite pictures of them. After all, how can you choose with so many frames like these? Natural love.
After such a busy period of shooting weddings in the last quarter of 2012, Agnes and Jimmy wedding happened to be the last wedding that I shot in 2012. And I guess there couldn’t be a better way of ending my work season in 2012. Both Agnes and Jimmy live in Singapore, and like any other couples who are tying the knot in Bali, they wanted their close family and friends to be there with them and shared this precious moments. They enjoyed the day from early in the morning right to the end of the evening. Great venue, great family and friends, perfect weather. All is set for a nice story. Now it’s time for you to see how the story unfolded.
