Rustic Wedding in Nusa Dua, Bali

February 29, 2016 Destination Wedding

This time, I would like to quote Vierra’s note on her wedding. Souls When two souls fall in love, there is nothing else but yearning to be closed to the other. The presence that is felt to a hand held, a voice heard, or a smile seen. Souls do not have calendars, or clocks, nor do they understand the notion of time or distance. They only know it feels right to be with one another. This is the reason why you miss someone so much when they are not there – even if they are only in the very next room. Your soul only feels their absence – it doesn’t realize the separation is temporary. Also watch their wedding highlight below. A very memorable one thanks to the presence and love shared by their loved ones.

Intimate Wedding in Jimbaran, Bali

September 25, 2015 Destination Wedding

Bali is a place for love. While we all understood that blue skies, warm sunshine, nice beaches, and spectacular cliffs in Bali will certainly make Bali weddings looking even better, it was always the presence of our loved ones that really mattered. The laughter and the joy they bring was something any couples would love to treasure when the years has passed. So here we are to capture those priceless moments. Both Edwin and Indri are so lovely. Everyone loved them. And it’s a bless to see so much warmth for the whole day. This is one of our most memorable weddings in Summer 2015!

A Heartfelt Love Celebration in Melbourne

May 11, 2015 Destination Wedding

It was a beautiful spring day in Melbourne, sunny, bright and full of life, especially love on the day where I shot Jeremy and Natalia’s wedding. Jeremy and Natalia were such a fun and wonderful couple, since I spent some good times with them during the pre-wedding. Seeing kindness and warmth within their families and friends, such a great love portrayed for Jeremy’s mother, that she wasn’t able to attend and celebrate due to health issue. Although it was such a dismal moment for the groom, their mates were there ready to support and cheered him up and made this day a memorable one. Regardless the bittersweet moment, I am very grateful that I can be a part of their beautiful day. These were the unforgettable moments!

Glamorous Wedding Celebration in Uluwatu, Bali

March 3, 2015 Destination Wedding

I knew Paula since we studied in the same high school. But after we graduated about 15 years ago, when everyone went to separate ways and chose their own paths, we barely met or chat. So it’s definitely a pleasant surprise to hear that someone she loves asked her to marry him. And of course, it’s good to see her again especially in her most happiest days. The lucky guy is Rubens. I believe he’s one of few or perhaps the only Brazilian who work at BNI 46 building, the same building where Paula used to work. And the rest was history… The wedding was indeed beautiful because of the family and friends who came, supported and shared the love with Paula and Rubens. I believe their love will last forever, and even more after the birth of their first daughter, Maya.

A Mixed of International and Traditional Wedding in Jimbaran and Ubud, Bali

December 23, 2014 Destination Wedding

Since Stacy & Sam live in China, I only got to meet them few days before we flew to Bali. And it’s always exciting to meet a couple for the first time especially since I never saw their pictures before. When I finally met them, I was glad that they’re both among the nicest couple I’ve ever met and it’s a good thing that they’re so in love and looking forward for the wedding. Stacy & Sam did two ceremony during their wedding. The first one was the Catholic holy matrimony and the second one was Balinese ceremony at Stacy’s parents villa at Ubud. I knew Stacy’s parents did a heck of a job preparing the wedding. And everything just turned out beautiful as they would expected. So here’s those happiest days for Stacy & Sam! Do watch their wedding trailer too, because actually, the wedding was a four days event ; )

Modern Wedding in Fullerton Hotel Singapore

May 7, 2014 Destination Wedding

Kenneth & Ockta wedding on 4 January 2014 was the first wedding we shot in 2014. What a time to start a new year! Because this was our first opportunity to shoot a wedding in Singapore. But when our flight was delayed for about 2 hours a day before, it certainly wasn’t the kind of start we were looking for. About 10 p.m that evening, we met with Kenneth & Ockta at the Fullerton hotel to check the venue. I could feel they both really looked forward to the big day. So the next day, It was still dark outside when we left our hotel about 5 in the morning. We took a bus ride to get to the Fullerton hotel because we never go with a bus when we shoot in Jakarta, so we wanted to give it a try. We had all the space for our bags and equipments since there were only few people on the bus apart from us. Felt like we had a private bus and the bus stopped only about 50 meters from the hotel. We enjoyed this experience a lot. Everything just went very well. Kenneth and Ockta must have felt so much love on that beautiful day. These pictures say everything about their happiest day. By the way, if you decide to watch their wedding trailer at the end of this post, I finally understood a couple of months later why the flight had to be delayed. Because if it hadn’t happened the way it happened, we wouldn’t have that beautiful sunset sky shot above Singapore. Kenneth & Ockta (Trailer) from Andrew Octaviano on Vimeo.

Warm Celebration at the Edge of Uluwatu

May 18, 2013 Destination Wedding

After such a busy period of shooting weddings in the last quarter of 2012, Agnes and Jimmy wedding happened to be the last wedding that I shot in 2012. And I guess there couldn’t be a better way of ending my work season in 2012. Both Agnes and Jimmy live in Singapore, and like any other couples who are tying the knot in Bali, they wanted their close family and friends to be there with them and shared this precious moments. They enjoyed the day from early in the morning right to the end of the evening. Great venue, great family and friends, perfect weather. All is set for a nice story. Now it’s time for you to see how the story unfolded.

Big Wedding Celebration in Lombok

April 6, 2013 Destination Wedding

I still remembered my first meeting with Yasmin. We’re just about to close our studio and she walked in to the studio. So I sat with her in the gallery, where we had a such a lively chat about 45 minutes. She shared some stories about her background, her fiance and her upcoming wedding in Lombok. And it was some of the most unique stories. At one point, Yasmin told me that her family conservative Arabic background has prevented her to see her fiance after sunset, and even if they went to dinner, they had to be accompanied by someone else, and I followed by saying to her, ‘I can’t imagine what kind of first night you’ll be having.’ Then we couldn’t help ourselves having a big laugh about it. After she left, I was always looking forward to her wedding. Yasmin & Ghozy wedding was truly such an unforgettable 3 days event. Many believed in Lombok that their wedding at the end of last year, was the biggest and grandest wedding in Lombok last year. With all the VIP who’s there and more than 2000 guests at the wedding reception, it was just a bit hard to believe that it was happening there. But my memory is not about the wedding reception, my memory was the warmth of Yasmin & Ghozy family, the people around them, the new wedding culture that I was able to experienced, and the moment we all said goodbye before heading back to Jakarta. And for all these things I would always be forever grateful. At some point, I thought my memories about Lombok would always be about my first honeymoon with my wife, but in my next visit to Lombok, I know that this memory will also come back to mind.
