Nadia & Rama

December 6, 2012 Weddings

I was pretty excited to shoot Nadia & Rama’s wedding since I haven’t shot many traditional wedding lately. There are so many things that intrigue me from a wedding; the music, the ceremony, and the culture. But my main attention is always on the bride and the groom. I love watching the chemistry of two persons who are very much in love. And perhaps for me there’s no greater satisfaction on a wedding than being able to capture those moments beautifully. I love every frame on this wedding, it felt very much like a family event, it’s one moment you can say that love is in the air and also because I had a couple who are perfect for each other and always meant to be together.

Melissa & Norman

October 23, 2012 Weddings

Just last Sunday, I bumped into Melissa and Norman after I had lunch at Pantai Indah Kapuk. That’s quite bizzare, since that was my first ever lunch at PIK and neither of us live near PIK. After we said goodbye, I realized that I haven’t shared their wedding pictures all this time. Melissa and Norman got married last January. It was a memorable day. Melissa is the youngest child in her family. Her older sister Michelle is my friend since junior high school until senior high school, while her older cousin, James was one of my ‘partner in crime’. I could remember briefly the days when Melissa was still in ‘SD’ and her mom used to pick up all her four children at school. I guess time has gone a little too fast. I met Norman like a couple of times before the wedding, so I was surprised when at the reception Norman showed some guts to sing for Melissa in front of hundred of guests. He just made sure, it would be the unforgettable night for Melissa. In the end, I guess they both have found their love. I’m happy I was a small part on their most special day.

Nova & Aldo

July 20, 2012 Weddings

When I met Nova at the beginning of the year and she shared about her upcoming holy matrimony, I was pretty stunned. Israel.. that’s gonna be something for her and her fiance at the time, Aldo. Since Nova’s all set up for the Israeli wedding, I have to comfort myself there will be a next time for Israeli wedding. And I’m more than happy to shoot their wedding reception in Jakarta. Nova and Aldo are the few very lucky couple who had their dream wedding came true. They’re blessed by wonderful families and more importantly they’re so blessed by God. I remembered Aldo told me that few years ago when he visited Cana, he prayed to God so one day he could come back and marry the woman of his dream. And the rest is history.. Only beautiful moments.. Ivana & Suryadi

July 1, 2012 Weddings

Never before I shot a wedding on Monday. And this was my first time. Monday 9 January 2012. I remembered very well we had a lot of rain in January, especially in the morning. It’s wet and dark, reminded me of those winter days during my college time. After I shot Suryadi & Ivana pre-wedding in West Java, I understand that they’re going to have a wonderful time today no matter how the weather was going to be or how many guests should turned up to the party. I think that day was one of the most beautiful Monday I ever witnessed. Romantic Wedding in Cortona, Italy

May 1, 2012 Destination Wedding

I first knew Irene about 10 years ago during my time in London. We met briefly at a church and she became a very good friend of mine ever since. I guess there were mainly two things that made us easily clicked. The first thing was the fact Irene’s mom is from Bali and having stayed in Bali for years, we often talk about Indonesia. She speaks good bahasa. Second thing was, we both sort of out there on our own. Irene has no siblings, while both her parents live in Japan. On the other hand, I came to London partly because I didn’t know where else to go. So I was really glad I met her. I felt I found a sister far away from home. The wedding itself was held at Cortona, a beautiful small town in Tuscany. I drove about 180 km from Rome to get to Cortona. Thank God I didn’t get lost and nothing happened to my rental car either. So on the 28 September 2011, I safely arrived at Villa Baroncino, where the wedding reception was about to be held. It’s been five years since I met Irene, so it was really good to see her face again. Years ago, Irene often shared stories about her family and it was nice to finally meet them on this special occasion. Then I finally met Rob, the lucky guy. Irene told me a couple of years before that she’s seriously in love with an Irish guy. She told me few good things about Rob and after she sent me the invitation and their story at their wedding website, it seemed to me their love for each other has turned into a commitment. There were around 50 guests at the wedding and I loved every minutes of it. Both Irene & Rob’s families gave me such a warm welcome. I just couldn’t feel better to be around them. I listened to many stories and it’s definitely a pleasure getting to know some of Irene & Rob’s closest friends. But above all I was happy Irene and Rob have started their journey together. Here’s the sweet memories…

Yanti & Bram

March 22, 2012 Weddings

Yanti & Bram tied the knot just over a year ago, on the 20th of March 2011 to be precise. Two days ago, they just celebrated their first wedding anniversary. And I’m sure it was a delightful celebration with Noah, their newborn baby boy : ) What a way to celebrate your first wedding anniversary. Perhaps this post comes out a year too late but I dedicate this specially for both of you. Cheers..

Arman & Lorraine

December 26, 2011 Weddings

Maybe, most of all.. No one anticipated a wedding more than the bride. And Lorraine is the perfect example that, in a positive way of course. At work, she’s used to handle huge responsibilities and have everything well prepared so it’s not surprising to see everything went so well, while I was perhaps not having my best preparation. I arrived in Jakarta on October 1, 2011, after a pretty long flight from Rome, less than 24 hours before their wedding. From the Airport, I had to go to Studio for a family portrait session for Mr. & Mrs. Gouw. We finished about 7pm, and about 10 hours later, another task awaited. I guess the look of my face is the contrary of Lorraine’s. I was a guy in a need of sleep, while Lorraine were glowing with the most beautiful smiles. Anyway, Arman & Lorraine is another classic match of Kanisius & Ursula couple. Arman is a proud Kanisius graduates, I met him several years ago on a badminton court. He’s very good at badminton, maybe too good. Arman is such a quite guy, while Lorraine is so lively. Together, they complete each other. On this day, they just looked so happy together!

Cheryl & Winarto

October 24, 2011 Weddings

Cheryl had a unique, cool and bold ideas for her wedding. But I believe it’s best for me not to describe them in words. I prefer you to see how Cheryl and her wedding designer, Sally did it. After our first meeting, I knew very little about Cheryl, I could only think of one thing we had in common, which was the love for black and white photographs. As we moved on, Cheryl sometimes told me about the obstacles going into the wedding. But on the day, all those worries were gone, they’re two happy lovebirds. It’s a lovely day!
